Holiday Inn Express - Glasgow - City Ctr Riverside, an IHG Hotel

My flight got me there 2-3hrs before check-in time and I was happy to just put my baggage into storage but they had my room ready and was able to check in, so very happy with that. Staff were friendly and every day I got a good morning from reception as I went for breakfast. Breakfast itself, offered enough choice with Orange/Apple Juice and coffee machines for your choice of coffee....Plenty of Tea choices available too. Bed was comfy and room was clean too.

The bathroom especially was really clean. There was an ice machine and a microwave for guests to use, which was a nice touch you don’t usually get in hotels. The hotel has lookout spots on the corners of the building which give a sense of falling and are really cool selfie spots. That’s a nice touch! The hotel is also centrally located albeit a bit removed from the main high streets. One negative is that the family room we stayed in was VERY small - the sofa bed took up all the space so that you had to climb over to reach the curtains and also the chair could not be removed from under the table because it was chocked against the bed. All in all a very lovely hotel to stay in for the price and benefits.

We had an excellent 5day stay. The checkin was fast, friendly and very welcoming. We ask that the AC can completely turned off, because I'm very sensitive to it. 15minutes after we were in the room the staff member came and put it out. She was concerned that we maybe getting cold and offered us an extra heater, was very kind was, but we didn't need one. The Room itself was very clean with comfortable Beds and a nice sized Bathroom with a great Shower. In the Room you could barely hear the Street or even your neighbor, it's very quiet and therefore we had an relaxing stay and were getting a goodnight sleep. The Breakfast is huge with everything you could want. The Staff was always friendly and helpful. We appreciate the hard work from all the Staff members on a daily basis, because to work in hospitality is hard, that we could enjoy our break from Work,too. We are coming definitely back and sending a big thank you.

The location is very good, with a few good pubs nearby and a huge car park (at the additional cost). The hotel is pet-friendly and my pet received a welcome gift which is really nice and cute. Pets are not allowed at the breakfast area - so we were advised that we can grab some food and eat at the lobby - which was a good option. Breakfast is good - there is no much choice, but the food is well-cooked and tasty. Hotel stuff is nice and welcoming. There is also a bar at the hotel in case you don't want to go out but still fancy a beer.

Good location, not near to the busy high streets and walking distance to St enoch and bus stops. Room was comparatively small to other similar stays. However it was clean and staffs are great to pick any requests from the guests. Recommend this for short stays of max 2-3 days.
